Girl Power Community Uganda

With the grant, Girl Power Community Uganda empowered over 500 girls and young women with disabilities, along with an additional 500 community members. The program focused on climate justice education, advocacy, and inclusive programming. Activities included trainings on climate justice and smart agriculture, nursery bed establishment, tree planting, vegetable growing, school-based awareness sessions, and the formation of Disability and Climate Justice Clubs. The initiative also featured radio talk shows, helping extend its reach to a wider audience.

Through this program, participants accessed safe spaces to share their experiences and foster solidarity. Overall, the initiative demonstrated that, with access to resources, girls and young women with disabilities are capable of identifying and addressing their own challenges. This project made a significant impact by raising awareness, strengthening community support, and building leadership and resilience among girls and young women with disabilities in schools and local communities.
