Economic Power

With the grant, Economic Power launched an initiative to support the economic empowerment of young women in Garissa, Kenya, by providing them with resources and skills to start and expand income-generating activities. The organization issued small business loans to three women entrepreneurs, enabling them to grow businesses in the retail, clothing, and food sectors. The grant also supported a Henna Skills Training Program led by Girl Concern Organization, equipping 20 girls with marketable skills in henna art for cultural and beauty services. Through this initiative, the three entrepreneurs are now running successful businesses, and the Henna Class participants have begun offering paid Henna services within the community. The project has enhanced participants’ financial independence, boosted their confidence, and strengthened the social recognition of women in the community.
