Macho kwa Jamii is a community-based, non-profit organization in Tanzania dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of girls and children. We focus on ending gender-based violence, advancing access to education, empowering young people to speak up against all forms of abuse and discrimination and enhancing young women in entrepreneurship. In addition to advocacy and community outreach, we operate a children’s home that provides shelter, care, and holistic support to victims of sexual violence and orphans, ensuring they have a safe environment to heal, learn, and thrive. Through these combined efforts, Macho kwa Jamii is committed to creating safe and equitable spaces where every child has the
chance to build a brighter future.

Current Measurable Metrics / Achievements
I. Supporting 15 vulnerable students to complete secondary school; 2 are now in higher education.
II. Reached over 3,000 students through the “Mtoto Vunja Ukimya” campaign, empowering children to break the silence on abuse.
III. Established a children’s home currently supporting 25 children, including survivors of abuse and orphans.
IV. Partnered with local and national human rights organizations (Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC), Legal and Human Rights Defenders (LHRC ) Kaya Foundation) to strengthen advocacy, Coalition for Women Human Rights Defenders (CWHRDs) ,Tanzania Education Network (TEN/MET) and Tanzania Early Childhood Development Network (TECDEN)
Testimonials and Stories of Change.
I. Kelvin Rwegoshola: After scoring Division One in his Ordinary Level examinations, Kelvin is now pursuing his Advanced Secondary Education at Tosamaganga High School in PGM combination (Physics, Geography, Mathematics). He dreams of becoming a pilot, and through the support and inspiration he receives from Macho kwa Jamii, he believes his dream will come true.
II. Karim Msakandeo: A former beneficiary now pursuing Electrical Engineering at NIT, proving the transformative impact of education support.
III. Magreth Mngazija: Once a victim of violence, Magreth found support at Macho kwa Jamii. With mentorship and education support, she overcame her trauma and is now pursuing Marine Studies at the Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI), embodying resilience and hope for other survivors.
IV. Halima Seif Ally: After experiencing violation, Halima was supported by Macho kwa Jamii to enroll in a Secretarial Course. Today, she is successfully employed and working in a stationery business, a testament to how education and skills training can restore dignity and independence.

What’s Next for the Organization (Future Plans)
I. Expand the “Mtoto Vunja Ukimya” campaign to entirely Tanzania that would help the children to understand the signs of violations and get know how to address it early.
II. Strengthen the children’s home by building permanent infrastructure and expanding capacity.
III. Establish a community resource center offering counseling and girls’ leadership programs.
IV. To have the specific place for poultry farming and having skillful agriculture farming and help at least 100 young girls, Strengthen digital advocacy for girls’ rights across Tanzania.
Current Needs
I. Funding support for school sponsorships and community programs.
II. Resources to expand and sustain the children’s home (food, education materials,
healthcare, psychosocial support).
III. Partnerships for capacity building and training in the community especially for
students, parents and community leaders.
IV. Support to expand legal aid and counseling services for survivors of abuse.
V. Expansion of entrepreneurial activities to empower young women and survivors
economically.
