Who We Are
Girl Concern is a young women–led grassroots organization based in Garissa County, Kenya. Founded by young women to address harmful practices and gender inequality, we focus on empowering girls and women through education, leadership, and economic opportunities. Our flagship Renewed Voices Project provides holistic support to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), combining medical care, counseling, legal aid, and livelihood support.

Through Renewed Voices, a survivor’s leadership capacity was enhanced and she joined Girl
Concern to produce film and stories that advocate for the rights of survivors of gender based violence.
What’s Next
Girl Concern is equipping the Renewed Voices GBV Recovery and Empowerment Center in Garissa. This will be the first integrated center offering medical care, trauma counseling, and empowerment programs under one roof.
